Funmilayo Vaughan

Funmilayo Vaughan

Funmilayo is a first year ordinand at Ridley Hall.  She comes from Grays in Essex. Her sending church is St Clements in Grays, which she joined in 2014.  Prior to this she was in the Pentecostal denomination.

Before becoming an ordinand, she worked for the Crown Prosecution Service for 18 years in London. Her family is from Lagos, Nigeria.  Her name is a typical Yoruba name which simply means ‘give me joy’. The full name is 'God has given me joy'.

She supports Liverpool and hates chocolates.

Edwin is currently in his second of three years at Westcott House. He grew up in rural Shropshire before reading Modern Languages at St Andrews University in Fife, after which he worked as a parish assistant in Westminster for a year.  He moved to Cambridge in September 2018 with his partner, Taylor, who is also an ordinand, their two excitable dogs (Raffie and Fliss) and their increasingly resentful cat (Percival).

He is thrilled to be on placement in the parishes of Fulbourn and the Wilbrahams this year, and has loved meeting, chatting with, worshiping alongside and having a good laugh with so many kind and welcoming people already that he can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!

He would love you to grab him and say ‘hello’, whether he is in church, around the parishes, or being dragged around the countryside by two inexhaustible border collies.

David Bagnall

David Bagnall

David is our summer ordinand for 2019, on placement with us until the end of September.

He grew up in the Cotswolds, and attended The King's School Gloucester and Pate's Grammar School, before coming up to Cambridge to read English. A former choral scholar at King's College, David apparently enjoys being 'wheeled out of retirement from time to time' and so still sings semi-regularly. Before becoming an ordinand, David was an English teacher.

David is married to Katharine, a classics teacher, and together they enjoy walking their dog, swimming, and arguing over which of them is taller (it's almost certainly Katharine).
